The Myanmar military government has issued a 2-Year compulsory military law

Myanmar state media reported that Under this law Myanmar men aged 18-35 years and Myanmar women aged 18-27 years are required to serve in the military for a maximum of two years. Meanwhile, specialists such as doctors who are under 45 years of age must work for the army for three years. This period may be extended to five years in the event of an emergency. Violators of this law can face up to five years in prison.

Saw Min Tun, spokesman for the Myanmar military government. told the official media that “The duty of preserving and defending the country goes beyond the military but is the duty of every citizen. We therefore want everyone to strictly abide by these military conscription laws with pride.”
